Berkeley's Christmas Shows

16 December, 2014

Berkeley’s Christmas performances.

The festive season is just around the corner and at Berkeley we have made everyone’s Christmas just that little bit finer with our pantomime, songs and music.

The middle and high school began the series of shows in mid month playing modern songs, traditional carols and other fine pieces of music. Our two orchestras and ensemble knocked out a host of classical pieces, a national anthem and other Christmas carols to keep every music fan happy and to give all in attendance that magical Christmas feeling. The event for the high school performance was well attended and there is sure to be much more in store for the New Year as our performing arts departments go from strength to strength.
The elementary students put on Berkeley’s first ever full live pantomime with a stunning performance of Jack and the Beanstalk. The whole of our elementary school was involved in making this such a top class performance and entertainment piece.  The show was well choreographed the backing music was superbly timed and the choral backing singers were breath taking. As the show progressed the giant made his appearance and had some of the younger members of the audience running for the door to escape his clutches.  The 40 minute production was a Berkeley first and something that is sure to inspire our students to go one step further and take things up a level for next year.

The kindergarten students looked very dapper and reminded all of the Nutcracker when they came into perform their early morning show. Students of all ages came through resounding performances of traditional Christmas carols and dances. After many sets of individual class performances all of the kindergarten students took to the stage at the end of the performances for a resounding finale of ‘Jingle Bells.’ The flashes from the cameras in the audience gave the entire theatre another wonderful Christmas glow.

We would like to wish all the Berkeley community a wonderful festive season and we are looking forward to seeing all our students on stage performing again soon.
