AT A GLANCE : BERKELEY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL
Established in 2010, Berkeley International School (Berkeley) offers an international quality educational program from Pre-K through Grade 12 (current enrollment includes Pre-K – Grade 7 for 2011-2012 academic year), welcoming all expatriates as well as host country national families. The overall curriculum is an English language, American-based program with an international perspective. Using California’s standards and benchmarks instructional program of studies and the latest edition series of core subject text books and resource materials, students will receive a “Top Notch, Cutting-Edge” education.
Ideally located within the city limits of Bangkok at 123 Bangna-Trad Road, Berkeley occupies a 30-rai site. The School’s closed campus, designed for safety and security, has extensive facilities. This beautiful efficiently designed environment offers spacious air-conditioned classrooms, science and computer laboratories, an expansive library, music art and dance rooms, a first-aid clinic, playing fields, multi-purpose sport and table tennis rooms, and a spacious canteen. In addition to offering a convenient, affordable and safe transport facility for our students, Berkeley provides a full snack and nutritious lunch program catering to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian international and Thai cuisines. Building plan phase II will commence during the 2012/2013 school year, including a large auditorium and an indoor sports gymnasium.
Our Kindergarten Program (Pre-K, K.1, K.2, and K.3), Elementary Program (Grades 1-5), Middle School Program (Grades 6-8) and High School Program (Grades 9-12) share the same campus however different buildings, facilities, and time schedules separate the various programs. Admissions is dependent on space availability, entry test results and previous school records. Nationality is also considered with regards to ensuring that the school attracts a broad and balanced mix of nationalities to maintain its status as ‘truly international’.
