LEARNING SUPPORT PROGRAM

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Berkeley International School practices an inclusion model for learning support. Learning support teachers act as case managers as well as provide some direct instructional services to students who are identified as needing support with language development (ELL) or with learning challenges (SEN).

INITIAL PLACEMENT

During the school's admissions process, all students are required to take an entrance exam which helps to inform the school about a student's potential learning support needs. Learning support fees are based on this score.

PROGRAM CONTINUATION

Annually, student progress is reviewed combining test scores and teacher evaluation to determine continuation in our learning support program and/or adjustment of fees.
