Overview

Community Building during Homeroom (PRIDE Time)

This embedded time in our schedule is designed to create a supportive space where students build meaningful relationships, grow as individuals, and develop the skills needed for academic success and life beyond school. Students meet every Friday in small groups for Weekly Community Check In’s that provide students with a structured opportunity to reflect, connect, and plan for success. These check in’s help foster strong relationships between students and teachers, build a sense of belonging, and encourage open communication.

Grade Level Field Trips

Grade-level field trips are designed to enrich student learning by connecting classroom content to real-world experiences while also strengthening social and emotional development. These trips foster stronger relationships among students and teachers, promote independence and responsibility, and offer opportunities to practice teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving in new environments. In addition to reinforcing academic skills, field trips support community building, expose students to diverse cultures and perspectives, and create shared memories that enhance school spirit and a sense of belonging. Overall, they contribute meaningfully to students’ personal growth, academic engagement, and readiness for life beyond school.

Academic Support

Academic Lab (Study Hall) is designed to provide targeted support for student learning by offering a structured environment for academic growth, reflection, and responsibility. It allows students dedicated time during the school day to focus on assignments, seek help from teachers, and develop organizational skills essential for success. Beyond academic reinforcement,it promotes time management, goal-setting, and personal accountability. It also creates opportunities for students to build positive relationships with teachers and peers in a supportive setting.
